Some recommended routes:

Route No. 1: Longiano
Cervia- Longiano- Roncofreddo- Montiano- Cervia. About 70 km without challenging climbs, medium difficulty.
A low-traffic route offering beautiful views to reach, among others, Longiano: one of the most stunning towns in Romagna, home to the Malatesta castle (with the Balestra museum inside it), the Petrella theater, often chosen for theatrical premieres despite its small size.
Route No. 2: Sogliano
Cervia - Sogliano al Rubicone - Borghi - Cervia. About 80 km with several ups and downs (including a 3 km climb with 7% gradient), medium-high difficulty. Sogliano is located near the source of the Rubicone: you might see the Fosse of the Fossa cheese open and enjoy a tasting along the way in some periods.
Route No. 3: Cervia Salt Pans
Cervia - Savio - Castiglione - Pisignano - Saline di Cervia - Cervia. Approximately 45 km - completely flat, low difficulty. In Cervia you can visit the ancient Etruscan-era Cervia Salt Pans still, still working within the Po Delta Park.
Route No. 4: Barbotto
Cervia - Borello - Mercato Saraceno - Barbotto - Sogliano - Cervia. Approximately 90 km - hard difficulty. This is the most famous climb in Romagna; if you are well-trained and feel like a champion, you can't go home without saying you completed the Barbotto! (During the Granfondo Selle Italia, the same peak is reached from the opposite side).
Route No. 5: Verucchio
Cervia - Verucchio - Cervia. Approximately 80 km - medium difficulty. Verucchio, also known as the “cradle of the Malatesta” boasts very ancient roots and is perched on a rocky spur, surrounded by a breathtaking panoramic view. The picturesque square and the majestic Rocca del Sasso fortress, adorned with beautiful turrets and a mighty tower, stand as testaments to the rule of the Malatesta family. The charming 10th-century Pieve is also worth a visit.
Route No. 6: Santarcangelo
Cervia - Gambettola - Santarcangelo - Cervia. Approximately 55 km - completely flat, low difficulty. The Middle Ages are still evident in Santarcangelo, in its cobbled streets, brick walls, artisan workshops, old mills, the alleys of the historic village, and, of course, in the Malatesta Fortress. Passing through Gambettola, you can visit the ancient printing houses of Romagna, while in Santarcangelo you can see the cellars carved out of the tuff.
Route No. 7: Bertinoro
Cervia - Pisignano - Forlimpopoli - Bertinoro - Pievesistina - Cervia. Approximately 65 km - medium difficulty.
You can further cycle along this route by another 15 km to Polenta and Frattaterme, featuring a challenging climb for more experienced cyclists. Bertinoro is a very scenic town, popular for its fine wine. Along the way it is possible to stop and taste the local wine.
